Today, tourism has gone beyond meeting individuals’ needs for leisure and recreation. It has become an essential component of cultural interaction, economic contribution, and sustainable development. Increasing urbanization, stressful living conditions, advancements in transportation, and globalization have encouraged people to travel and spend time in different geographical locations. In this context, tourism has become an activity that must be professionally managed and planned not only on an individual level but also socially and economically. Especially in countries like Türkiye, where tourism revenue plays a crucial role in the economy, the need for qualified human resources is growing day by day.
Tourism enterprises, therefore, are turning to educational institutions to meet the demand for a skilled workforce. The sector requires individuals who possess theoretical knowledge, strong communication skills, familiarity with industry practices and foreign language proficiency.
As the Department of Tourism Management at our university, we aim to provide our students with strong academic and professional qualifications. Located in Alanya, one of Turkey’s most important tourism destinations, our department offers students the unique opportunity to experience the heart of tourism during their education.
Our education program, which is conducted entirely in Turkish, is designed to equip students with a solid foundation in business and management while also fostering a deep understanding of the dynamics of the tourism industry. The program aims to cultivate solution-oriented, adaptable, and responsible individuals. Courses cover a wide range of subjects from tourism and travel industry to hospitality management, from economics to human resources. In addition, through elective courses, students have the opportunity to learn a second foreign language.
Our academic staff consists of experienced faculty members who combine theoretical knowledge with sectoral expertise. Moreover, by organizing talks, seminars, and practical training sessions with leading professionals from the industry, we enable our students to engage directly with the tourism sector even before graduation.
As the Department of Tourism Management, our primary goal is to graduate professionals who are not only knowledgeable but also capable of adapting to a changing world, committed to ethical values and equipped with an entrepreneurial and inquisitive mindset.
